Society has come to realise that domestic abuse should not be tolerated. The law is supportive and sympathetic to those who experience domestic abuse, whether from their partner, an ex-partner or other family members. We can advise you on family protection. In certain cases, we are able to obtain protection for you as a matter of urgency, usually within 24 hours and in some cases even quicker. We have an accredited domestic violence specialist within the team.

In most cases, a court order will provide you with protection for one year. This can be backed up with the power of arrest, ensuring that the police have authority to apprehend the violent ex-partner or family members whilst the order is in force, should he/she continue to threaten or harass you.

  • The time spent on the matter
