Rachael Shay (Solicitor)
Rachael grew up in Yorkshire and studied law at The University of Bristol. She obtained a Distinction in the Legal Practice Course at The University of Sheffield. Having completed her studies, she worked as a family law caseworker in London, for two years, before commencing her Training Contract. During her Training Contract, Rachael primarily worked in the family law department and studied probate for six months.
Rachael qualified as a Solicitor in March 2017 and began working at Berry Redmond Gordon and Penney in March 2017, specialising in family law. She became a member of the Law Society Family Law Advanced Accreditation on 1st July 2019. Rachael’s two specialist modules within the accreditation are Violence in the Home and Private Law Children.
Rachael has a friendly and pragmatic approach to helping her clients with their family issues. She has experience working with victims of domestic abuse and the children issues that arise out of such situations. Rachael also assists clients with disputes relating to children, inside and outside of court, divorce, separation and finances.
Rachael represents parents during the pre-proceedings process and inside and outside of Court in Care Proceedings. She has an empathetic approach, as she understands the parents are going through a difficult time, whilst also being straight forward with her advice.
In her spare time, Rachael likes to swim, ski, paint and travel.
