Olivia Briar

Paralegal

Olivia is a dedicated member of our Criminal Defence team and has been part of Berry Redmond Gordon & Penney since May 2021, bringing with her seven years of experience working in law. She began her career with the firm as a Legal Assistant in the Family Department, where her previous family law experience, strong client care skills and organised approach to case management made her a valuable addition to the team.

Olivia later moved into the Criminal Defence department, where she has worked closely with Partner and Solicitor Stefan Simms on Magistrates’ Court matters. In this role, she developed substantial experience in case preparation, client liaison and court procedure, gaining a strong understanding of the fast‑paced and often demanding nature of criminal law.

In 2024, Olivia progressed into a Paralegal role. She now works across both Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court matters, playing an important part in preparing cases, supporting clients and ensuring they feel informed and reassured throughout their proceedings. Olivia is known for her thorough preparation, clear communication and steady, supportive manner, helping clients navigate what can often be a challenging and unfamiliar process.

Outside of work, Olivia enjoys running and reading.
