Spending time at North Somerset Courthouse with Berry Redmond Gordon & Penney was a unique and invaluable experience that gave me a firsthand look into the daily operations of the legal profession. From engaging with Magistrates, legal advisors, solicitors, and ushers, I gained a real understanding of how the justice system operates in practice.

One of the most memorable aspects of my work experience was attending a full trial. Witnessing the courtroom in action. The precision, intensity, and professionalism was incredibly inspiring. Seeing how each part of the process came together to form a seamless, highly effective system only reinforced my desire to pursue a career in law. A special congratulations to Stefan, the solicitor I shadowed, for his exceptional win during the trial.

What truly stood out to me throughout the week was the approachability and support I received from everyone I met. No question was too small, and I was always encouraged to ask more, making it a truly interactive learning experience. I am especially grateful to Stefan, who not only took me on for work experience at short notice but also went above and beyond to ensure I made the most of my time. Watching him in court and seeing him achieve a great result was incredibly motivating. I also want to thank Shannon for her constant support and willingness to share her knowledge. The insights I gained from both Stefan and Shannon were invaluable, and they helped me to understand the theory and see the practical application of what I’ve been learning.

This experience has deepened my passion for law and strengthened my ambition to pursue a legal career. I am truly grateful for the opportunity and the incredible people I had the chance to work with.
