Stephen Mackie

Solicitor

Stephen is a specialist solicitor in Litigation and Employment Law, bringing almost four decades of experience to his practice. 

Raised in the West Country, he completed his Law degree and went on to qualify as a solicitor in 1990. Since then, he has worked continuously in the legal profession, spending the last 13 years serving clients in North Somerset.

Over the course of his career, Stephen has acted in a wide range of complex and high‑value matters, including several notable cases such as Leach v Gloucestershire Constabulary, Baker v Craggs, and Dawson v Bell. His extensive experience, combined with a meticulous and analytical approach, enables him to guide clients through often challenging disputes with clarity and confidence.

Stephen advises on both contentious and non‑contentious employment issues as well as general civil litigation, providing practical, strategic support tailored to each client’s circumstances. His long-standing commitment to the profession and deep understanding of the law make him a trusted adviser to individuals and businesses alike.

Outside of work, Stephen enjoys spending time with his family. He is married with a teenage son and, in his spare moments, can often be found gardening or walking his scruffy dog.
